First a cute story about Eric and then pregnancy stuff (for those of you who want to you can skip the second part...)
The other day shortly after Eric woke me up (luckily he always comes in as soon as he gets up), I really had to go to the bathroom. While in there, I heard the kitchen chair being slid across the floor (never a good sound... it means Eric is about to get into something that he's not suppose to!) So I called to him, and he didn't answer for a while. Then he came in with a chocolate mustache and I knew he'd gotten into something he wasn't suppose to be getting into before breakfast! However, when I got into the kitchen, this is what I saw:
He had found the chocolate milk mix that we'd left on the counter and filled his ENTIRE cup with just the powder... and apparently had been 'drinking' some of it! YUM.
Now on to the pregnancy stuffs...
We found out mid November that we were pregnant, and I felt pretty good until about the beginning of December. Then sometime at the beginning of this month I realized that two months had passed and it honestly felt that I was finally coming out of a fog. I can't say the nausea has completely left me, but I can open the fridge without feeling like I'm about to relieve my stomach of all contents. I actually only feel nauseous a few days a week and only for an hour or two each time. I actually ate broccoli tonight and it didn't taste like dirt, so that's a plus (weird but true, I can't stand broccoli when I have morning sickness - one of the signs I was sure I was pregnant this time!)
I sometimes feel bad complaining about my morning sickness, as I only did actually relieve my stomach of it's contents about once per week. (I know some people who have it much worse than that!) But I would have to say that I pretty much felt like that was a very real possibility almost every waking hour of the day (and I'd have to snack on something every time I woke up at night to keep that feeling at bay... so about 3 snacks per night on the bad nights and 2 on good ones...)
So now that it is actually February I feel that I missed 2 months of my life. It is amazing for me to realize that I'm almost halfway done with this pregnancy (17 weeks currently!) Next Wednesday (29th) we get to have the ultrasound done, so we may be able to find out what baby's gender is! It is almost surreal that we're getting it done 'so soon'. It honestly sometimes feels like I just found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago. I know that is has been longer, and my body is starting to have some of the wonderful side effects (sore back, heartburn that is out of control, etc) of pregnancy. Although I haven't had the constant hip pain so far this pregnancy (with Eric I pretty much had it from the start, and I've only had my hips hurt a few times this pregnancy.)
The heartburn is not so fun, it has pretty much been a constant for the past few weeks. I am in love with my Zantac pills... I pretty much take one every day, and if I forget I have this lovely burning in my chest to let me know that I have forgotten! I actually had to start taking them when I still had morning sickness because I couldn't stomach even the thought of eating tums or taking a liquid equivalent. Some days now I have to take the tums and/or liquid equivalent along with the Zantac.
On the upside I've actually felt baby move a few times. It is still hard to distinguish sometimes, but I know it's been baby at least a couple of times.
The other upside is that even thought I've gained more weight that I wanted to so far in the pregnancy (12 lbs total - I'm sure eating 3 snacks a night while dealing with morning sickness didn't help - or the cravings for ice-cream) I'm still a pound or two lower than when I got pregnant with Eric! I just realized this the other day and it made me happy. (I still however want to get down to where I was weight-wise when Daniel and I got married - 13 lbs less than when I got pregnant. However I know it won't happen this year!)
Oooh, the other crazy pregnancy side-effect I'm having is this crazy temper. I can get overly upset at some things... one such thing is that both times since getting pregnant when Daniel and I played Zooloretto (boardgame) I have gotten so MAD at him for doing something once in each game. The first time was at his parents house before we announced we were pregnant (I'm not sure what they thought of their DIL getting so upset at their son during a game...) and the second time was with his sister (visiting for Christmas), but she knew I was pregnant - kind of hard not to when sharing the same house ;). It is funny though because I get SO ANGRY for like 2-4 minutes and then it's over and I feel horrible about it (mostly.) I also got royally ticked off waiting in line for Papa Murphy's pizza on V-Day. (Someone cut in line 2 people in front of me and someone else was wanting to try to about the time I next to pick up my pizza after waiting for 15+ minutes.)
I feel that this is a very wordy post so I'm going to end now... Have a great (insert time of day here.)
