Getting Ready Frenzy

So Friday I had an appointment at the OB office, it was with a nurse practitioner because I somehow missed scheduling this week and the OB was all full for the week... Anyway, at the appointment the nurse told us that Baby's head is pretty far down in my pelvis (no wonder I get up every hour to go to the bathroom every night), and that I was pretty well effaced. To sum it up she asked if I had an appointment for next week and then said that we have a 50/50 chance that Baby will be here before then! We were excited at that prospect, but then remembered that we still weren't ready for Baby to come...

So Friday night we went and got all the last minute things that we absolutely needed before Baby comes... Then I had an hour and a half of false labor (contractions 4-7 minutes apart, but not getting stronger then eventually fading) that night from 10:30-12 which made us glad that we had gotten the things we need, but our apt was not ready. Which made today the frenzy that it was...

Today it was laundering all the last minute items (plus all our dirty clothes) and then having our Home Teachers bring over the Cradle that Adam and Bethany are nice enough to let us borrow (thanks again!). We also cleaned out the car (way overdue) so we can put the car seat in. So when it is light tomorrow we're going to install the car seat, then we'll be as ready as we can for Baby to arrive.

Pictures

So I've had people ask about seeing pictures of me showing how pregnant I look... So here is one of me today. It is weird for me to see this view as the only mirror we have in our apartment shows only from my neck up.
While I am at posting pictures, here is one of all the people from our ward who attended the Baby Shower we had last Saturday. (Such brave souls, they came even though it was snowing!)

Full Term

Well we made it to 37 weeks, and are now considered full term. Our OB told us that they wouldn't stop me if I went into labor now, but it is still best if Baby stays inside for the next couple of weeks. :)

I am definitely feeling the exhaustion of late pregnancy though... I don't understand how I can be so exhausted and then when I get into bed my body refuses to go to sleep. Or the nights when I wake up and can't get back to sleep for 2 or more hours. Then there are just the nights that nature calls every hour which is not conducive to getting quality sleep. I guess it will all be over soon enough and I won't be getting lots of sleep at night anyway! ;)

Hospital Tour

Today we got to take a look at the Family Birth Center at the hospital we are going to deliver. It was nice to be able to see what the rooms are going to look like and learn what the hospital has to offer. The tour leader walked us through the route we are going to take when we go into labor. We traced the route from Triage to the Birthing Suite, stopped at the C-Section area, then to the Family Suites (recovery), passed by the NICU and the Nursery. One thing that I thought added to the tour was that the tour leader was an actual nurse in the Birth Center. Daniel really liked towards the end when we passed by a baby getting bundled up to go home. 5 more weeks!

Tagged...

So this is the first time I've been tagged (at least that I've noticed).

1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer.
2) Select the 4th picture in the folder.
3) Explain the picture.
4) Tag 4 people to do the same. No cheating (cropping, editing, etc.) Have fun!!

This picture was taken in August when Daniel's sister Elise was visiting and one of her previous roommates was moving to Madison. We went to visit the Vilas Zoo. Daniel had to get a picture of a badger as that is the school mascot here. We took a lot because this little guy was not willing to stay still (but deleted all the bad ones or this might have been a picture of a part of a badger or blurry).

I tag Lisa (just to make sure you do it...), Leisa, Bethany, and Margaret (just cause you were there...)
